One of my last weddings of the 2017 season was Alex and Kim, and I couldn’t have had a better couple for this perfectly windy Chicago day. I went to high school with Alex and his younger brother Andrew, but I first met Alex and Kim as a couple at Amanda and Kenny‘s wedding and then again at Carly and Howie’s wedding when Alex was a groomsmen. I sat with Kim at dinner and chatted with her the entire time. So I was even more excited getting to be there for their big day!

There were so many smiles the entire day, you can feel the love and happiness! I asked Kim not to smile for one photo and she couldn’t do it, we then all proceeded to laugh for a good few minutes. There was no wiping the smile off anyones face, including during the family formals, I’ve never seen a couple so happy to do that section of pictures. I then caught myself smiling the entire time while editing and going through their pictures.

Their ceremony at St. Monica’s Parish in Chicago was a sweet and personal ceremony with all their family and friends surrounding them. After the ceremony we headed to Foster beach to do the bridal party photos and photos of just them. After pushing our time limit and having the bus driver come find us we headed to Monastero’s Banquets for the party.

Kim and Alex secretly told me before their engagement session they were taking dance lessons to have a choreographed first dance. Lesson after their wedding…anyone engaged, go schedule some dance lessons! Their first dance was perfect, I can’t wait to see the video of it!

I had such a blast documenting the entire day for Kim and Alex as they move on to the next step of their lives together. Thank you for having me there for your wedding.

Enjoy! 🙂

3 couples, 3 weddings!

So excited to share this wedding! Katelyn and Johns summer wedding was perfect. I met them at the Lincoln Way Inn Bed and Breakfast in Franklin Grove, which was a beautiful location for their day. The Inn was a unique quaint location for their small wedding with their closest family and friends. After Kate and John were ready we did a modified first look by the front door before we left their wedding ceremony at St. Raymond Cathedral in Joliet.

Travel was a big part of the beginning of their relationship. Kate lived in Southern Illinois, John in Northern Illinois, so the train station was a special spot for them. I love that we stopped at the station for photos after the ceremony. Along with the train station for photos we stopped at a really awesome old barn on the way to the Inn. While driving out to the Inn during the planning process Kate and John passed the barn all the time and fell in the love with the look and feel for photos.

We made it back to the Inn for the reception and came back to a the space all decorated with all the tables, flowers and hanging lights. It was a gorgeous back drop for the party. Kate even had sparklers for their first dances!

Congratulations to Katelyn and John! I hope your marriage is filled with so much love, adventure and happiness for all the rest of your years!!

Enjoy! 🙂

A little behind in blogging this month! But, Tommy turned ONE! I was so excited to bring him to the location we did his mamma’s maternity session. We just so happened to blessed with an AMAZING sunset.

I love to see how much personality this little dude has. The second he saw me walking up to him he had an instant smile, and gave me plenty more smiles for the rest of his pictures.

I’m so lucky to photograph this little guy and his amazing parents through the milestones in life.

Enjoy! 🙂

Joe and John’s wedding at Spiaggia downtown was so beautiful and each tiny detail was thought of. I came to photograph this wedding extremely last minute. One minute I’m preparing minestrone soup for the crock pot and the next I’m charging my batteries and packing my bag to photograph a wedding downtown in two hours.

A fellow photographer had an emergency and luckily I was free, my minestrone soup quickly took the back seat. I arrived at Spiaggia and ended up in the same elevator with Joe and John on the way up to the space. We went over the flow of the night and then started with some photos with family and friends before the ceremony. One of their best friends, Scott, was the one privileged enough to perform the ceremony and marry them after eight years together!

I had such a great night with Joe, John and both their family and friends. The night was beautiful and filled with so much love for Joe and John, I felt so lucky that I was able to document their night such last minute.

Congratulations to Joe and John! I wish you guys all the love, laughter and happiness in your future together!

Enjoy! 🙂

Nicole and Brian’s engagement session is up! I met them at Klode Park, which is just north of Milwaukee, and is a super special place to them, since that’s where they said “I Love You” for the first time! It’s right on Lake Michigan and provided a little photographers playground. I walked around the location as soon as I got there and immediately started picturing all the different set ups.

As soon as we started I knew it would be a good time. Nicole and Brian were so easy going with each other and so natural in front of the camera. I barely had to tell them anything during the session.

After Klode Park we drove to Miller Park for the last of the photos. The Brewers are a huge park of their lives, they’re both die hard Brewers fans so taking some photos at Miller Park were a given. We sweet talked the hostess at the Friday’s restaurant to do some photos in there. Since all the window seats were taken they let us use the empty party room for the last of the pictures. Sometimes all you need to do is ask 🙂
